Restaurant Queries
Do we have to book?
  Booking is essential on Fridays & Saturdays as we are normally fully booked between 7:00pm and 9:00pm a week in advance. It is still advisable to book on weekdays.
We have booked a table already. Can we come in earlier for a drink at the bar?
  During normal week days, you can arrive earlier to wait for your guests. On Fridays & Saturdays, we do not recommend arriving earlier than 15 minutes before your reservation time as the lounge seating area may be full. There are bars several doors away from the restaurant which we would recommend if you arrive too early. See the INFO page for more details.
 
Do you have a smoking area?
Under the new smoke free law, we cannot let you smoke in the restaurant. If you want to smoke, please go outside and we have cigarette bins for you to dispose your cigarettes.
 
Can children come to the restaurant?  
  Children of all ages are welcome but they must remain seated and be accompanied by an adult. If you require a high chair, please let us know in advance. Please note that it is dangerous for children to run in the restaurant.
 
Do you have a Happy Hour?
  We do not have Happy Hour. We serve the same Evening Menu throughout the evening. We do have a Lunch Time Menu served from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm. See the MENU page for details. 2:00pm is the close up time, so we recommend that you arrive between 12:00 noon and 1:00pm.
 
 
Is there a Service Charge on the Bill?
  We do not levy a service charge.
 
 
Can I bring a Birthday cake?
  You can bring you own cake for your special occasion. If you would like your cake to be a surprise, then bring it in at an earlier time and we will present it at the table for you after your meal. If you would like to cut your cake, we can provide you with the plates and the utensils.
 
 
Can I bring a bottle of wine?  
  We do not allow consumption of wine or any other drinks brought in to the restaurant.
 
Can I buy someone a bottle of wine over the phone?  
  Yes, we can accept card payments over the phone and we can present it at the table on your behalf.
 
Do you do takeaway food?
 

We do takeaway meals.  Menu is as the Evening menu but with a 15% discount.  We do not deliver meals.  Please telephone in your order and we will have it ready for you to collect.  Minimum transaction value for Cards & Cheques is £15.
 

 
Can we have a round table with a turntable?
  You can request this when making a reservation. As we have a limited number of round tables and turntables, we can not always guarantee that there will be one available on that day. The largest round table we have can accommodate a maximum of 12 people.
 
We have a large party, will we all sit together on the same table?
  We would always try to sit everyone at the same table. As a guide, the maximum number of people on one long table is 18. This would depend on other reservations on the day and space available. For larger party sizes, we may have to split the table into 2 or more separate tables. Please enquire when making a reservation.
 
We have a large party, can we have separate bills?
  You can have separate food bills for individual groups in your party. As each bill will be treated separately, the meals for the different bills may arrive at different times so you may not all have your appetisers and/or your main courses at the same time. There will be a maximum number of bills we can open for your table. For drinks, you will have to order and pay at the bar.
 
Can I request a song from the singer?
  You can request a song from the artists. If the song is not available, then the artist will dedicate a song for you. Please ask a member of staff and they will pass on your details for you. The artists do not sing 'Happy Birthday.'
What are the carvings made from?  
The carvings are mostly carved from turnip. They take from half an hour to two hours to carve depending on complexity.
 
Can we keep the chopsticks?  
Chopsticks, like other utensils are reused.
 
Meal Queries
Do the meals include the rice?
  The main course meals do not include rice. The rice are in single portions. If you order several portions, then it will normally be in a larger bowl for easier sharing. Some customer order less rice than the number of guests and they find it sufficient to share.
 
 
Do you serve English Meals?
  We have a limited choice of English Meals. Mainly Steak and Omelette, both of which are served with salad and chips.
 
 
I am allergic to peanuts / wheat.
  About 10% of the appetizer and main course meals on the menu contain either peanuts or wheat base products. Just ask a member of staff when you order your meal and we will recommend a suitable meal for you.
 
 
Can I change the meals on the Banquet?
  We can normally change one main course meal to another meal of your choice from the menu. If the value of the chosen meal is higher, we may charge the price difference.
 
 
Do you have a Vegetarian Banquet on the menu?
  Yes, we do. We will find the Vegetarian Banquet in our Evening menu.
 
 
Can we order our meals in advance?
  Yes. We always recommend that for large parties, you order your meals in advance. This will save time waiting for everyone to read the menu and decide what meals they would like. We recommend that you email your order to us a few days in advance. Don't forget to put your name, reservation date and time and the number of people in your party. If this is not convenient, then just bring your order with you on the day of your reservation.
 
 
Are there any other Banquets you do?
  For large party sizes, we can prepare a Banquet to your requirements. You can either specify your budget and we can organise your meals for you, or you can create your own Banquet by specifying your own meals and we
can give you the price.
